Who they are.
Some of the most promising climate solutions are hiding in the ocean. Propeller is helping bring them to the surface. Launched in 2022 with a fund of about $117 million, the Boston-based venture firm backs early-stage companies working on marine carbon removal, cleaner shipping and ocean energy, and ocean-grown food and materials. Its partnership with Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (a former grantee partner of Alta Futures) helps turn breakthrough ocean science into companies built to scale.
