1. Who we are
Alta Futures (“Alta Futures,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) backs leaders and ideas through grantmaking, investment, and related support. This Privacy Policy applies to our website at altafutures.com (the “Site”) and to the newsletter you can sign up for on it.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your first name, last name, and email address. If you email us, we receive your email address and anything you choose to include in your message.
Information collected automatically. When you browse the Site, we collect limited usage information through our website platform’s built-in analytics: pages viewed, the site that referred you, your approximate location (country or region), and your device and browser type. We look at this information in aggregate. Our hosting provider also processes standard technical data, such as IP addresses, to deliver the Site and keep it secure.

We use the information we collect to:
Send the newsletter and occasional updates you asked to receive
Respond to your messages and questions
Understand how the Site is used so we can improve it
Keep the Site secure and meet our legal obligations
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising.
4. Newsletter
Our newsletter is managed through HubSpot. When you subscribe, your name, email address, and the page you subscribed from are sent to HubSpot and stored in our account there. We only send a few updates a year. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email, or by writing to info@altafutures.com.
5. Cookies and analytics
The Site does not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. Our analytics measure visits without placing cookies on your device. If we add tools that rely on cookies in the future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
6. Service providers
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Site and communicate with you, and only so they can provide those services to us:
Framer hosts the Site and provides its analytics.
HubSpot stores newsletter subscribers and sends our emails.
Google Fonts delivers some of the typefaces on the Site. Your browser requests these fonts from Google’s servers, which receive your IP address.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights, property, or safety of Alta Futures or others, or as part of a reorganization or transfer of our operations.
7. How long we keep information
We keep newsletter information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We keep other information only as long as we need it for the purposes described above or as required by law.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, including California and other U.S. states, the European Union, and the United Kingdom, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or limit certain uses of it. To make a request, email info@altafutures.com. We may need to confirm your identity before responding, and we will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmitting or storing data online is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children’s privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Links to other websites
The Site links to websites run by our partners and others. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies.
12. International visitors
Alta Futures is based in the United States, and the information we collect is processed and stored in the United States.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
